Better reading

Recently I encouraged us all to be a bit skeptical of ideas we are about to adopt. manager-magazin just published Jeffrey Pfeffer's Fünf Tipps für kritisches Lesen (Five Tips for Critical Reading) on their Web site:

  1. Beware of things called "new."
  2. Be skeptical of anecdotal evidence.
  3. Beware of half truths.
  4. Avoid self-anointed gurus.
  5. Recognize your cognitive biases.

It sounds like good advice; check out the full article.

If you'd like help with the German, Google can help.
